I’ve been using the Nokia N79 for a while now, and my first impressions are extremely well. The phone has great call quality, the image quality is fairly okay (but not as good as a real digital camera – and to my experience, it needs fairly much light), the video quality is okay.

I’ve been testing the GPS-functionallity – and I think that the phone is capable of finding a number of sattelites very fast (when the phone is not moving to much), and the reception is good – as I’m able to find sattelites indoors. I’ve been testing it with the Nokia Sports Tracker, Google Maps, and Nokia Maps, and it just works. Have’nt been testing the voice guided directions.

The only problem is, that, as the phone is very new, much of the software, that I would like to put on my phone (e.g. Shozu) is not supported. But, I’ll be back, once they are.

For a while now, I’ve been on the look out for a new mobile phone, that would fit my needs. Basically – what I need is:

• The phone
• Good keypad for SMS
• WI-FI
• GPS
• A decent camera

Browsing through different forums, review-sites, mobile manufacturer homepages etc. I finally found the one I think would best fit me: the Nokia N79. Just ordered the phone this friday at http://shopmore.telmore.dk
